Question Stone Roses

Hi,

I notice on BBC teletext that the Stone Roses "Stone Roses" album is a new (re?) entry at number 9. What's that all about? Is it a remastered version or something? Haven't had time to check it out at the shops yet.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

RDB

PS They're my all time favourite band. If they've got something new out, I've got to have it!

No. I think it'll be the fact that HMV we're selling the album for £2.99 over the last week or so. I was tempted and we've got 3 copies in our house Well, I'd have bought as a great gift for someone who didn't have it. Fortunately, none of my friends are that daft.

There's a Live DVD out as well, so I'm sure that generated a bit of interest.

I'm sure this can't be the reason (but it may be of interest anyway). The album was voted number 1 in the top 100 British albums in the Observer music monthly magazine.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was kinda hoping for (but not really expecting) that it would have been a new version (5.1 mix would've been ideal!!). Maybe one day...............

Hi,

The Stone Roses DVD came out last week - 2 discs, the first disc has the legendary "Blackpool Live" concert in 5.1, and the promo's from the album all in 5.1 as well.
Second disc has various TV performances and interviews (including the very funny Late Show clip), and a never seen before 20 minute home video, made during the recording of the album.

Because its on Silvertone there's nothing from the Second Coming, but still a must have for us Roses fans !

Play and CD Wow are both stocking it - nice gatefold packaging as well.

Ian.
