cd-wow settle out of court

The case between the BPI and cd-wow has been settled
two weeks before going to court. Under the terms of the
agreement, cd-wow has said that it will be raising cd prices
by £2. This is very, very bad news
Here's a link to my original thread on this matter.....http://www.avforums.com/frame.html?h...ght=cdwow+sued

Unbelievable.
This really makes me angry. We've been ripped off for years, and we finally find a supplier of cds at a very reasonable price.........
I'll have to stop before I explode..........

Unfortunately no surprise....the only real surprise was that they were able to do it for so long, given the stance of the RIAA in the US ,and the BPI here.

When will they learn that if the price is right, customers will buy,and not resort to piracy, especially when they can see the rest of the world buying CDs at a better price.

Here's another article about it:

The Register

I never used CD-Wow for CDs, as I thought their selection was awful, but I have bought DVDs and games there. I guess the BPI doesn't realize that people will just find another retailer with comparable prices. If not... that's how black markets get started.

Hmmm the record industry whines about losing millions through piracy of its material and then goes out of its way to put people off who do buy music because they dont think we are paying enough and selecting them through their chosen markets......hmmmm looks like some people get their cake AND eat it!
