BBC4's 'prog' night
Did anyone else watch this? I was a little disappointed, it has to be said.
The first programme 'focus'ed too much on the ridiculous aspect of some prog rock, although it did chart the early history quite well. The second programme was meant to show how all the prog groups were connected, but never really went beyond Yes and Asia. Neither programme mentioned Jethro Tull, Steve Hillage, or any of the crossover 'psychedelia' bands. It could have been done a lot better, and didn't really benefit from the number of people who were sniffy about prog, and preferred punk. |
