Film Soundtrack Survey

Hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me? I have a college assignment that requires me to run a survey on a chosen musical genre. I love soundtracks so it was an obvious choice. If you could just spend maybe 10 minutes of your time to fill out this survey and when I have collected enough results I'll share them with you!

thanks

Re: Film Soundtrack Survey

I have just completed your survey and need to point out a problem with folks on here filing it in.

The last question asks:

Would you say that watching a film at home diminishes the impact of the film soundtrack?

I have answered No as there is only a Y/N answer.

This may seem as though I do not care about the soundtrack where as I do very much care. The survey does not take into account that at home I have a sound system (as do lots of others on here)that will put most commercial multiplexes to shame.

If I did not have this equipment my answer would be yes so this skews my actual answer.

Re: Film Soundtrack Survey

I've just completed your survey but I'd like to make a few comments.

You've asked what is your favourite genre. In my case I watch anything that's good whatever style it is so I answered other.

You asked how many films I watch each week on average. That would be around 4 to 5. Your survey's choice of answers start with 0 then go 1 to 5, 6 to 10, etc. That's quite a big leeway that would lump me in with someone who only watches 1 a week.

You also asked about if the lesser sound quailty at home is an issue. One of the reasons I stopped going to the cinema many, many years ago was the poor presentation of the films. Both sound and vision, Like many on these forums I've invested quite a bit of my income on a decent AV setup so the sound is pretty good and better than it was back then in the cinema.

Regards
Bri

thanks for the replies, sadly I cannot edit the survey after having submitted it, however your comments still help with my assignment as I can "critically comment" on my results, so thanks for pointing some things out. I should have just given the same options for the cinema question as the overall film watching question. Interestingly, I haven't received any comments on the home cinema question on any other forum I have posted this survey on, but saying as this is AV forums, that makes sense!
