favourite guitar albums[non instrumental].

what are your favourite guitar albums? ones that really feature the guitar quite heavily?

albums that when you've finished listening to them, you find that the guitar made a big impression with you?
i'm not including stuff like satriani or vai simply because they are obvious guitar albums.

some of mine are:

'are you experienced' by the jimi hendrix experience.
imo this is THE guitar album. i actually only have a few tracks from it, however i recognize how great it is.

'van halen' by van halen. this brought a whole new way of playing to the spotlight.

'force it' by ufo. this is with schenker.

'jailbreak' by thin lizzy.

Fuel For Your Soul by Jagged Edge, out in 1990.
Fantastic album with a crisp clean sound.
Guitarist Myke Gray went on to form Skin who have recently reformed.

I uploaded this track (Smooth Operator)to Youtube as I couldn't find any already there, see what you think.

Like most "what's your favorite .... ?" questions, my answer will be Rage Against The Machine's self titled album. I love the little note in the sleeve alluding to only "real" instruments being used in the recording of the entire album - but then how did they get the fax/modem sound at the end of Freedom ? :-)

Good Call, this, Master of Puppets and Ozzy's tribute album kept me busy when I was cutting my teeth on the old axe.

Two great guitar albums, Force It is the one album I rate over anything for IMO the best guitar playing.

Also really like Earthshaker - Y&T
