Can you name this new band...

i was listening to Virgin radio last night and they played a new song by a band. They must have announced the name of the band before they played it but I missed that because i turned the radio on half way through.

Anyway (this is going to be tough) can you name them:
They have quite a big guitar sound and the vocalist kind of moves between low-end vocas in the verse to higher melodic in the chorus. They kind of reminded me of a-ha with guitars lol

They were also featured I THINK on Sky 1's top 200 of 2004

Thanks in advance if you canname them

Could be Million Dead, Karkus will confirm when he comes on line but I recall they go quite high in the chorus.

Er no... Karkus is a forum member, not a band (might be, but not in the context Garrett meant).

Million Dead I don't think fit that much.

The Mars Volta maybe? Kings Of Leon?

Ah it was SNOW PATROL with their single RUN. Took me three hours of listening but I found it. Apparently theyarent a new new band they just havent broken into mainstream very well before.

However I am certainly going to listen out for some of the other bands you've mentioned

Thanks folks

They've been mentioned in bits and pieces here on the forum recently.

I have a couple of friends who recommend the "Final Straw" album (2003) highly, a view that a couple of folk here share. It's in my "to buy" list (along with Bonnie Prince Billy) but I can't find it that cheap anywhere. Amazon don't even have in stock...

...I don't hear any Aha though...

Ta for the link. Has this piece of news :

Loads of you have been emailing us about not being able to get hold of Final Straw over the last few weeks. The album is going to be be re-released in the UK on the 4th Febuary and will include two extra tracks on it. Check the news page in the next few days for details on the new tracks.
