Backing up DVD-A / SACD - Is it possible?

Hi

Is it possible to backup SACD and DVD-A onto DVD recordable media?

Are there any shareware programmes on the net that can do this, as there are for backing up DVD movies?

7MAT, I am pretty sure you cannot copy/backup SACD as there are no PC drives that will recognise SACD. Not sure if it will copy teh CD layer though. Will try it out.

As for DVD-A I dont know if DVD Xcopy will copy a DVD-A as I dont have a DVD burner. But I suspect they are all copy protected.

My understanding is that no-one has yet cracked the encryption of DVD-A, hence no equivalent to DVD Decryptor or its' ilk.

No. There is neither the software, or a recording system domestically available that will write multi channel or even standard two channel SACD or DVD-A.
