oh..... my...... god

did anyone nearly wet themselves during the drum medley???

that was honestly the most impressive thing i have ever seen musically in all my life. when portnoy and the drummer from opeth were playing it was like sex in the ears

Re: Dream Theater Wembley Arena 10th Oct

Drum solo was pretty spectacular, would have wet myself, but, being only about 15 feet away from the subs I think the wetness kept getting pushed back in!
I was very impressed by Opeth, never seen or heard of them before, but that singer was excellent, being able to sing properly and the gutteral stuff with ease. Big Elf, again superb, very Deep Purple, Uriah Heep based stuff (my kind of era), Unexpect were a bit to much for me, although I was impressed by the 10 string bass guitar, looked like he was playing a floorboard the fretboard was so wide!
Dream Theater, well what can you say, there are not many bands around with musicians as talented as those guys, each one of them outstanding on their chosen instument, during the encore I could see Jordan Rudess almost willing everyone to hit their marks as it has a very complicated time signature, I think I also saw James LaBrie offer up a small prayer before he came in on a really complicated bit! Worth the 16 hours of travel to get there and back.

Nope, we weren't treated to a drum solo at the Manchester gig.

First time I've seen Dream Theater live, thought they were very good but not on for long enough. I know they were promoting their new album but would have liked a bit more of their earlier stuff.

Suppose I'll have to go out & buy Live at the Budokan to make up for it!
