Ok so what is your fave unnoficial live recording??

Being a huge Rush fan I suppose Great woods and summer skies takes some beating. Its a soundboard from the Test for Echo tour and sound quality is quite amazing!

Another goodie from Rush is Echoes on the stages - its the rehearsals for the Test for Echo tour from the soundboard.

There is also a soundboard rehersals from the counterparts tour. From an audience recording, the R30 show from Manchester arena takes some beating.

Oasis, 3 nights in a judo arena

Bootlegs Oasis - 1998 - 3 Nights In A Judo Arena - - - OS-001 :: OasisFr.com

I love the acoustic version of Setting Sun which is the dance tune Noel did with the Chemical Brothers.

I also have some great Yazoo bootlegs

Some good queen ones out there as well - some faves of mine are...

75 Hyde Park pro shot - not the best quality but still well worth a watch
76 Earls Court pro shot - 2dvd with a 5.1 soundtrack
77 Houston pro shot - Great quality with no lines on picture
79 Live Killers - 4 dvd set made up of shows from the Jazz/LK tour

Re: So what's your favourite bootleg???

Genesis at Wembley Stadium July 4 1987. Genesis played an unprecedented four nights there at the end of their ten month Invisible Touch tour. The set had undergone various changes throughout the the tour and by the time they came to Wembley (having already played Hampden Park and Roundhay Park) they were in top form (men of their age rarely sound in such peak condition after such a marathon run of dates!). Old songs like In The Cage and In That Quiet Earth (enjoying its first outing since 1977) sit well alongside newer numbers like Tonight, Tonight, Tonight and That's All.

At this point in their career, the band could do no wrong. Practically everybody had a copy of the new album and the stadium was filled with new fans whose enthusiasm for the show was clearly evident on this performance.

The recording I have is a pre-fm version of the show that went out on Radio One all those years ago.

I have many, many Genesis bootlegs from every stage in their career and whilst I can't claim to have a favourite bootleg of theirs, this would certainly be one of them (it's up there with Genesis at The Lyceum in 1980, The Liverpool Empire in 1975 and Montreal in 1974).

Favourite bootleg of all time, though, would be Frank Sinatra's final public appearance at Palm Springs, February 1995. He performed a short set, starting with I've Got The World On A String and ending with The Best Is Yet To Come. He was well into his eighties at this point in his career, yet you wouldn't have thought it to hear him. Strong delivery, flawless voice. This is essential listening: a legend bowing out gracefully.
