Thanks: Gave 120, Got 92 | Alice in Chains- new album and UK tour
Any Alice in Chains fans here?
Liking the new track. Shows that Cantrell can still pen a good song and DuVall does sound a lot like the late great Layne Staley (R.I.P.). Quote:
The video for "Check My Brain", the first official single from ALICE IN CHAINS much-anticipated new album, "Black Gives Way To Blue", can be viewed below. The clip, was helmed by U2 and WHITE STRIPES video director Alex Courtes ALICE IN CHAINS: 'Check My Brain' Video | mtvU | Just booked tickets for gig at London Forum and am hoping the rest of the new album is as good, though want to hear lots of Dirt really |

Sounds pretty good, Cantrell's voice doesn't harmonise as well with Duvall. Layne Staley was an amazing singer with such a distinctive voice. AIC unplugged is one of my most played dvd's and Jar Of Flies is a bonafide masterpiece.

I've got my tickets to the Forum gig. Saw them at Sonisphere and at the Scala in August.
I've heard the album, it's very good. Maybe a bit too heavy on Jerry's vocals in places.
I saw them when Dirt came out at Camdem Underworld, Jerry high fived me and I was stood no more than a foot away from Layne for the whole gig. One of my gig memories as a kid.

I heard that the new album had leaked on interweb, have resisted the urge to search for it but glad to hear that it's good.

Amazing!
Saw them later on the Dirt tour at the Town & Country with Tad and Screaming Trees supporting. Another fine gig.

They've announced some more UK dates in December, might have go Brixton Academy too.

I think it's incredible, to find a singer who sounds so eerily like Layne, and to knock out an album in 2009 that could quite easily slot into 1995 is quite an achievement.
Only been through the CD a couple of times but I really like it so far. I wasn't sure when I heard they were giving it another go with a new guy on vocals, but it's almost like they brought poor old Layne back from the dead!
