French band..............now dont turn off
Its called Dead Cities, Red Seas and Lost Ghosts.

Described as MBV for the Laptop generation, it boast huge sways of ethereal synthersiser sounds (analogue at that) layer upon layer, building into beautiful melodies, until your floating in a sea of sound.

This is a gorgeous album, originally I thought it was going to have that cold Vangelis type sound, but I need not have feared. Driven by a band that are still at heart a rock band, they produce a very emotional mix. Its not dance, its not techno or trance or rock, its a fantastic mixture of them all.

Hell, not content with stuffing the world with Rugby and Football (this year excepted) , the French are now producing music that merits a similar amount of respect.

Buy with confidence 4.5/5

easily one of the best albums of the year. seen them live last month as well. two guitars, synths, drums and a bass player. absolutely breath-taking. if you get the chance go see them (oh and yeah buy the album).
