Bridlington Spa Bridlington THU 29/01/2004 | Freeing up schedule as we speak, and placing sizable ammo order.
No, in fairness, I wouldn't kill the White Stripes as they continue to make themselves look ridiculous day in day out by trying (and failing) to make music and then putting it out on general release. Keep up the good work Jack, it makes me laugh.

I know its treading old ground, but have you actually listened to White Blood Cells ?
Ignore Elephant, its OK, but isnt a patch on WBC.
Dont let hype prevent you from having a listen.

I know the question wasn't for me, but I've only ever listened to Elephant. Is WBC a later album ?

I dont really rate Elephant its a bit too contrived compared to WBC. Also WBC is recorded.........LOUD.......and its a bit quirky, something which always appeals to me. One downside is the horrible Hotel Yorba thing, which is fun for about 30 seconds, then begins to grate.

I don't see why we have to turn an announcement about a tour by the White Stripes for people WHO ARE INTERESTED into yet another slanging session. I don't think anyone asked for opinions on the band from the same people yet again who have already made their feelings well known.
If you don't like them, you obviously won't want to see the White Stripes on tour, so why bother even checking the thread?
Let's cease the immature arguments before they begin and leave the thread for simple discussion on the tour for people who want to discuss it.

I have to say I prefer WBC. 'De Stijl' and 'White Stripes' both fine albums too.
Oh and cheers Whiting, got a couple of tickets for one of the Ally Pally gigs. Beats trecking down to Brixton. |

| Seems a fair comment until you read the open invitation for an adverse retort:- Quote: |
[[ Turn away Gambit, there's nothing for you here (...aside from potential assassination plots) ]]
| Which if it hadn't been said would have led to an ignored post.
Yes, i have heard WBC and it's the basis for my utter distaste for that talent free duo. Forget the hype he said. No chance - worst luck!!!

I don't see why good natured banter should be stopped because one person found the thread offensive ? Conversations about music and bands has always produced this kind of discussion.
