Freeing up schedule as we speak, and placing sizable ammo order.

No, in fairness, I wouldn't kill the White Stripes as they continue to make themselves look ridiculous day in day out by trying (and failing) to make music and then putting it out on general release. Keep up the good work Jack, it makes me laugh.

Mancs arent allowed in Liverpool so you will have to reduce your armory somewhat.

I know its treading old ground, but have you actually listened to White Blood Cells ?

Ignore Elephant, its OK, but isnt a patch on WBC.

Dont let hype prevent you from having a listen.

I know the question wasn't for me, but I've only ever listened to Elephant. Is WBC a later album ?

Earlier. I dont really rate Elephant its a bit too contrived compared to WBC. Also WBC is recorded.........LOUD.......and its a bit quirky, something which always appeals to me. One downside is the horrible Hotel Yorba thing, which is fun for about 30 seconds, then begins to grate.

I don't see why we have to turn an announcement about a tour by the White Stripes for people WHO ARE INTERESTED into yet another slanging session. I don't think anyone asked for opinions on the band from the same people yet again who have already made their feelings well known.

If you don't like them, you obviously won't want to see the White Stripes on tour, so why bother even checking the thread?

Let's cease the immature arguments before they begin and leave the thread for simple discussion on the tour for people who want to discuss it.

I have to say I prefer WBC. 'De Stijl' and 'White Stripes' both fine albums too.

Oh and cheers Whiting, got a couple of tickets for one of the Ally Pally gigs. Beats trecking down to Brixton.

Seems a fair comment until you read the open invitation for an adverse retort:-

Which if it hadn't been said would have led to an ignored post.

Yes, i have heard WBC and it's the basis for my utter distaste for that talent free duo. Forget the hype he said. No chance - worst luck!!!

I don't see why good natured banter should be stopped because one person found the thread offensive ? Conversations about music and bands has always produced this kind of discussion.

Whether you like White Stripes or not, and I do, Ally Pally is an awful venue. I saw The Strokes there a few weeks ago and it just doesn't get it right. They must be offering some decent discounts to attract these bands but I really hope it doesn't become a trend to host big tours there. Brixton rules as a London venue, even if you have to travel to get there (though I admit I don't).

If you can get tickets go see the White Stripes then rock on but I'm warning you that Ally Pally won't give you the live experience you've grown to expect.

Er, as thread starter, that'll be my fault

But as a White Stripes fan, I don't mind them getting a slagging so long as it's half as a amusing as the recent Queen diatribe which, I confess, struck a chord...

...but anyway, I have my tix for Liverpool which makes me a happy bunny despite the rather inflated ticket prices.

I love Brixton as a venue, that and Shepherds Bush Empire are by far my favourite places to see bands in London. But, Ally Pally is about 3 minutes walk from my front door so its pretty convenient - and I really dont enjoy the late night slog back from Brixton after a gig.

Hopefully if they're gonna be having more bands play at Ally Pally they'll invest a bit of money in the place - and put an end to the seemingly endless stream of Antique Fairs they have there at the moment.

Thats because Liverpool, the dance capital of England, isn't a rock venue. If the White Stripes sell out, which, despite the fact i don't like them, i hope they do, it will because of the huge number of non-local students here.
