Going to see Seasick Steve whats he like live?

Just got some tickets to a fairly small gig of his so I'm pretty pleased, but was wondering if anyone else has seen him live recently. What's he like on stage does he have the drummer on or is it just him his guitar and the box and most importantly does he tell his stories on stage which I love

Re: Going to see Seasick Steve whats he like live?

I believe he used to play on his own, but when I went to see him in Manchester in January he had a drummer and his son on various other instruments (tambourine etc.) It was a good show and I really enjoyed it, with a few stories thrown in for good measure too

I would've liked to have seen him earlier when he was on his own, but I guess on some of the tracks on 'I started out with nothin...' he needed the accompaniment.

Hmm that sucks I do agree his second album does need more than just him but with his first album which was mostly stories just some were put to music ( i.e Dog house boogie) would be nicer for him to do it on his own :-/. Oh well im just hyped to see him.

He does play part of his set on his own. So you will see at least a couple of tracks played in the raw style of dog house.

I've not heard any of the new stuff yet, but I look forward to hearing what it's like.

Re: Going to see Seasick Steve whats he like live?

I have seen loads of bands live and i can honestly say Seasick Steve would be in my top 5 of all time

as for his drummer (Garth, waynes world ) he is worth paying to see on his own . He's doing a new tour soon ,and i will definitely be going
