Mark Lanegan -Here comes the weird chill

Had to buy this EP, ML was originally from Screaming Trees and has done a few albums, but this is an interesting taster for the new album to be released shortly.

Other notables playing on the album are Josh Homme and Nick Oliveri Ex Kyuss and now QOTSA.

Then theres Chris Goss ex Masters of Reality and Kyuss producer. Dean Ween Ex Ween (remember them, mad as a bucket of mad things, Pure Guava made spinal taps songs sound sensible).

If you dont know this lot, get aquainted with Kyuss, Dinosaur Junior, Screaming Trees, QOTSA, Dinosaur Junior, Ween and Nirvana (at least) they appeared somewhere in amongst that lot, plus many others.

It sounds like Lanegan is coming of age, the music is maturing, very much in the Tom Waits/Nick Cave style with a hint of Beefheart (they do a cover of Clearspot, not as good, but who could be).

Lanegan is a class act, i'd recommend all his solo albums. He has one of the best voices in rock.

Chris Goss is still in Masters of Reality - they released a cracking album last year.

I went to see Mark Lanegan a couple of weeks ago, he was superb!!!!

The support band "Enemy" were also very good, they feature 'Troy Van Leeuwen', from QOTSA.
