Q Music Channel Bootleg remix week

Anyone interested in some pretty eclectic remixes should check out Q channel this week. There are about 25 interesting 'bootleg' mixes. Christina Agulera vs Strokes, Madonna vs Sex Pistols anyone? I kid you not. I taped 2 four-hour chunks a couple of days ago. Most of the mixes came on at least once. There's some pretty cool stuff there!!!

MP3's available at www.boot106.com. . (I did a google uk search for 'Q Mix').
I have a crappy dial-up so download too long for me, so I used my 8hr chunk of (x2 actually) VCR recordings and burned them to CD from there. Long winded but worth it. Got 23 of them this way over 2 days. Quality is very good.

My faves: (these were on Q over a year ago!)

Britney vs. Shakira vs. Bee Gees (awesome) (Slave 4 U, Whenever,Wherever, and Staying Alive)

Q-Tip vs. Michael Jackson (Breathe & Stop, Don't Stop til you Get Enough).

Some of the mixes are a bit too eclectic for my liking - they just don't gel. But these two are crackers.

Bootlegs an' t'ing

if you go visit the frellance hellraiser's website http://www.thefreelancehellraiser.com/ you can ask him for his 45 minute special CD. It's a freebie and is in a similar style to the bootlegs, it's v good.

He's the guy who did the Strokes/Aguilera one. He's also remixed Aguilera's Fighter.

Also, similar to boot106 is http://www.boomselection.info/ also base58.com is (was?) good, and so is osymyso.

Oh, and there's a CD on the front of MIxmag this month where Hellraiser has cut together the 50 best dance tracks of 2003 (in who's opinion I don't know).

I tell you what, Mixmag is an AWFUL magazine. I never knew it was so bad.

XFM play the odd tune by freelance hellraiser and there is loads of his stuff on peer to peer. Soulwax also do some superb remixes.

Theres a particularly amusing Nelly/Grange Hill remix
