Muse and Elbow at Notts

Saw them last night. Elbow were pretty good, although most people seemed to want to chat through out their performance

Muse opened with a broadside of power guitar and explosive drumming. Matt Bellamy leaping around the stage, whilst coaxing a barrage of sounds from his instrument.

You could'nt fault the performance, it was electric, they managed to fill the arena with sound and then some and created a fantastic atmosphere.

If that was'nt enough, the visual effects were equally stunning. An impressive 3 screen back drop producing live pictures of the band combined with space scenes, mountains and sun sets. Matts keyboard set up which was lit up like the sound board from close encounters. Showers of confetti and smoke covering the crowd, a deluge of black balloons and finally some giant balloons like 'The Prisoners' bounced across the audience until they exploded in a shower of confetti as they touched the flames of lighters held aloft by the crowd.

What a night, what a spectacle, what a performance 10/10.
