To record digitally, you'll need to connect the optical output of the DVD player to the optical (toslink) input on your minidisc player. Then, access the DVD players menus, and change 'Digitial Output' to PCM, instead of Bitstream, as Minidisc can only record PCM sound. It will obviously only be in stereo. Remember to change back to Bitstream for watching films in multichannel.

Are you using the sonicstage software that was supplied in the box with the net MD? if so there is an option in there, bang the DVD into a DVDrom drive (if you have one) and select to record audio only. I'll have a play and tell you exactly where the option is.

looks like you are unable to do it in the new version, I presume you have sonic stage 1.5? You can do it in 1.1 beta but not in the new version, looks like you'll have to go down the optical out put from the DVD road.
