Michael Kamen has died

Very sad news yesterday of the death of one the greatest music composers of the last 25 years.

His death comes just days after that of Steve O'Rourke who was the manager of Pink Floyd for 35 years and a band that Michael Kamen had also worked with.

His musical credits include Leathal Weapon,X-Men, Highlander,Edge of Darkness and Band of Brothers.

Mick.

Unhappy

Yes a tragic loss to the world of music but has left us with some very good works he worked on one of my favorite films X-Men which I have the album of, shame I was he did not work on X-Men 2 which I think was let down with the score.

RIP

The only thing I really know of him was when he conducted the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra when they played with Metallica on the S&M DVD/CD. He rocked!

I guess the scores he did were pretyy good too. Die Hard for example.

He was instrumental (excuse the pun) in bringing about Metallicas rise to fame, by adding a melodic dimension to the overall sound. This was well before the S&M stuff.

I do not think so the guy was a lot younger than what Michael would have been when the ad was run. Michael was 54 when he died.
