Saw them at Reading. They were awesome!

Rob Trujillo (the new bassist) looks like a gorilla when he plays.

I'm going, standing ticket None of that seating malarky!

Well, lets hope they play some of the classic stuff they hardly ever play...Unforgiven, Nothing Else Matters and Ktulu would be nice.

Lets also hope they don't play too much of St Anger.

They were great, as usual! Highlights for me being full versions of 'Harvester of Sorrow' , 'Seek & Destroy' and 'Master of Puppets'

I just wish they had some cameras and big screens, cos at the back we could see bugger all!!

BTW Can anyone tell me what Lars was mumbling on about at the end re: extra dates and Donnington next year?

Fantastic, first time Ive seen them, loved every minute. But the stars of the shoe....................The crowd. Everyone singing along louder than the band, none of this prompted chorusing mind you, the band could completely fall silent for 30 seconds or more and everyone keeps singing. Finally the crowd doing a voice impression of an entire Kirk Hammet solo......excellent.

What was Lars saying.................???

I was just about RIGHT at the front, standing...

The night was totally awesome, Fade To Black was very good, One was probably my fav song of the night and I too was trying to do that impression of Kirk's solo...I thought it was only me at first but I looked around and nearly everyone was doing it...

Oh and one of the pick's Kirk was throwing at the end hit my forehead! I tried to scramble for it but some guy put his foot on it and took it...oh well, at least it hit MY head eh?

Lars said Metallica are going to be at the Download Festival on May 6th at Donnington 2004, I believe Slipknot will also be in attendance as they are supporting Tallica next year!

See you there guys!

Do they play a lot of the old stuff as I feel they totally suck since And Justice for All. May be my age as I was into Puppets and Kill em all at school but the new stuff is just so dull. Haven't even bothered buying the new one as I saw the video for St.Anger and it, too, sucked the fat one.

The Darkness are good though aren't they? Metallica could learn some lessons from them in not losing their sense of humour. Actually the Garage Days CD that I recently got completely redeems them and they rule.

They did mostly the older stuff, from Kill em all, ride the lightning, puppets, black album, none from load or reload and only a couple from St Anger.

They were very happy on stage, I have heard that some of the last gigs were pretty dour affairs, but they certainly looked like they were enjoying themselves. The crowd definitely were
