I wondered if they were the ones i was thinking of, mainly the pretty red head singer, looked up and i was right , yes she was great but would like to see them on the bigger stage, maybe next year.

I thought Ga Ga was amazing at Glasto, It was one of the most lively crowds I was in all weekend. Great show, and nice and different to the other acts on the Other Stage that day. And the sparking bra was a genius moment! Her and Florence are coming from two different ends of the spectrum, so not really easy to compare, but I didn't see as big a crowd trying to push into the John Peel Stage as I did when she was on so shes gonna be big I think. I only caught 10 mins but she sounded good, but I was more interested in going to see Deadmau5 in the dance village.

One of the low points of the festival.
On the TV she was clearly miming for much of the time.

I was struggling to remember who this Ga Ga person was until I read the post above about her miming, then I knew who you meant. I turned that off after a very short while.

I thought the (cough) outfits were very nice.
Did remind me of early Madonna though...

Steve W | Certainly wasn't a low point for the people actually there! Easy to pick holes in the performance when it's being watched back on TV, but it was incredibly fun to watch, and she attracted a huge crowd who all seemed to be having a good time.

I don't like people miming on stage, it seems like cheating to me

Well, it maybe an age thing, but it does nothing for me. 'Music' for people who don't know what music is.
But I do accept that many people seem to like this sort of thing. But it ain't music.

For me it depends if the artist is supposed to be 'performing' or singing. Michael Jackson's Billie Jean at Motown 25 is the stuff of legend yet was completely mimed..as he was performing rather than singing.
I've been to Glastonbury a few times now (tho not this year) and from what I've experienced there in particular I would expect the artist to be singing live.

In all my experience at festivals I don't recall an artist having to do a costume change 3 times in a set, but she did as it was all part of it.
Maybe she did mime some parts (and I wouldn't expect an act to do that at Glasto) but she was certainly doing some energetic dancing, I'm guessing that's the reason.

Phil | Don't get me wrong, I'd get bored of watching this sort of thing for the whole weekend, and I saw other bands who I'm sure you would have appreciated more. But she did what I guess she does best and just put on a big show which was a lot of fun to be a part of.

Whoppee he did the moonwalk !! (he didn't even do it first as we all know).
The arguement seems to be , well it's hard to dance AND sing at the same time.
No it isn't !!, just a poor excuse in my book
