Few questions on going to see Oasis Wembley 12th July
Afternoon all,
Im going to see Oasis in 2 weeks time at Wembley. Ive been to alot of local gigs but never done a stadium one.
I see the gates open at 4 but not sure if i should get there for this time just it seems a little early and im guessing Oasis wont come on until after 8ish?. I of course want to see the support band but still im sure they wont be on until after 6.
If anyone could offer advice on what time would be best to arrive it would be appreciated (for your info i have pitch standing tickets)
Thanks in advance

Unless you're over 6 ft, I'd recommend getting there well early.
The missus and myself went to see George Michael at Wembley and couldn't see a thing from the middle of the pitch
Fortunately a nice woman saw my missus nearly crying in frustration and gave us 2 tickets for the seats, as they wanted to fill them up some more.
At a £100 a time, it was no wonder.
Gates open at 4pm?
I'd want to be queueing from 2 o clock, myself.
Oasis are the bizz in concert, saw them at MK

Re: Few questions on going to see Oasis Wembley 12th July
I'm going to totally disagree here. Yes, if you want to get right down the front, then go early. But with a stadium gig you can't really see the performers anyway. It's more about the atmosphere and spectacle. Plus, once you are down the front you don't want to give up your place to go to the bar/toilets/food. I'd get there about 6.
Having said that, I am 6' so am probably one of the people who shorter people can't see past

I hate tall people
Yes, of course if you're not interested in seeing then I agree.
But I can't see the point in that myself. Each to their own I suppose
Probably not much use, but the OP's info, GM came on stage about 2-2 and half hours after the gates opened. There was no support act though.
Of course all concerts are different.
Entry to Wembley was really slow, but it was the first concert held there, so I'd like to think they've sorted it out now.
As for travel, we stopped short of London and got the tube in, which worked very well

Re: Few questions on going to see Oasis Wembley 12th July
Cheers for the replies. Theres a large group of us going and well i dont think anyone is majorly concered with getting right at the front. Think as pmc said its more about the atmosphere. Plus i dont think i would want to be at the front as once ive had a few drinks i turn into a sieve
We might now be getting a coach down which gets us into Wembley for 2:15 so will have plenty of time to decide what to do.

Re: Few questions on going to see Oasis Wembley 12th July
i went to watch them in the millenium cardiff a few weeks ago, i went in at about 4 and saw all the support acts, kasabian were absolutly superb, t-shirts were £20 and the programme a tenner.
Oasis were excellent and the show they put on is great, the use of the screens was great with the effects they used.
only thing i wasnt keen on was the urine olympics, pints flying through the air lol
enjoy

Just beat me to it...
Take a hat and something waterproof - or wear something you won't mind smelling of ******. Have been to see Oasis a number of times (off to the Ricoh in Cov next week), and you always get the idiots who think it's funny to throw it about. I understand if they are right at the front and don't want to lose their place - but standing to the side with loads of space around them and the toilets not 50 yards away - and yet they still flop the old chap out and proceed to hurl the resulting 'warm foamy ale' anywhere into the crowd.
My missus was hit with a plastic pint at the Millennium a few years ago (Noise and Confusion), and that put her off. Not the band, but the idiots they seem to attract.
Apart from that, have a great time...

Re: Few questions on going to see Oasis Wembley 12th July
I am off to see Oasis at wembley as well on the 11th, at wembley they have a 'golden circle' near the front of the stage where they let in a few 100 people, i managed to use this when i went to see Muse at Wembley. Its worth getting there early though if you want to get in here as it fills up quick on a first come first serve basis.

Re: Few questions on going to see Oasis Wembley 12th July
Another question about this one, if standing on the pitch, say towards the centre somewhere, how easy is it to go and get a beer when it's all in full flow? Or do the crowds make it impossible?

Re: Few questions on going to see Oasis Wembley 12th July
Well, the GM concert (which didn't sell out), it was dead easy.
People were walking round with beer containers on their back, and you could just collar them and order
Make sure you have a fat wallet with you though

Whats the story with food/beer/toilets in the golden circle. Are there separate facilities in there or are you stuck?

You can come and go easily but finding your way back to the same spot to find friends is tricky. As mentioned, keep an eye out for the beer guy

I'm not sure about that one.
I don't recall any facilities in the circle.
