I bought asleep at the back when it first appeared. On the strength of that, I didnt buy cast of thousands, not that it was bad, just wasnt my taste. But having heard a couple of tracks off cast, I might give it a go.

I picked up "Asleep At The Back" after seeing them support New Order a couple of years ago and, much like karkus30, it didn't really click with me but that's not to say I don't rate it as an album, if you get my drift...

Despite that, I picked up "Cast Of Thousands" on the strength of the reviews and whilst I enjoy it when I play it, and I think it's great album - better than the debut, I still don't find myself reaching for it that often. I don't know....it's a bit weird really.

Whiting, thats exactly how I feel about Elbow. Its almost as if the music lacks character, the notes are all there, but somehow the soul is missing. Strange.

Its a very laid back album its fair to say. It seems to keep the same pace throughout. But it works for me

Well I think they've pretty much got it all including Soul and Character....but they don't connect with me. Don't know why.

Having said that, I'd recommend the 2nd album to anyone.

All very weird.
