Best Iron Maiden Live DVD?

Want to get a Live Maiden DVD and have been told Live after Death is the best. However, before purchasing on Amazon I read a few comments of previous purchasers and it appears the sound and picture quality is dodgy

Can anyone recommend an alternative good concert with good sound and picture quality?

Arrow Re: Best Iron Maiden Live DVD?

they're just about to release Flight 666 on DVD and Blu-ray
- the doc/live performance (shot at many concerts all over the world) movie of their Somewhere Back in Time tour of last year, shot in HD

Info: Iron Maiden Flight 666 & Iron Maiden - Flight 666

Prices:
Find-DVD: Flight 666: The Film DVD
Find-DVD: Flight 666: Special Edition/Documentary DVD
Find-DVD: Flight 666: Documentary [Blu-ray]

-

LAD is still a great DVD (includes History of Iron Maiden Pt 2 ... follow-up doc to the earlier History Of Iron Maiden Pt 1 The Early Years DVD)

After LAD ... I'd be more inclined to go for Flight 666 than the earlier Rock In Rio and Death On The Road live DVDs

EDIT ... Btw, prices for LAD: Find-DVD: Iron Maiden - Live After Death (2DVD) DVD

Re: Best Iron Maiden Live DVD?

I think there is one out of Killers tour with Di'anno on vocals. Its on the early days dvd.

Maiden before they became just another heavy metal band

Re: Best Iron Maiden Live DVD?

the PQ isn't really too much of an improvement on the original VHS of LAD (which is somewhere in my parents' loft), but the sound is great
- it's more of a nostalgia trip for me (Scream for me Long Beach!!!!), and it's a snapshot of Maiden at their pre-Bruce & Adrian departure & reunion/pre-middle-age peak

... am certainly going to get Flight 666 ... I believe Rock In Rio had good reviews, but I've not purchased or viewed it myself.

I would love to see Maiden England cleaned up and released on DVD, this was originally on VHS and was of the NEC concerts during the 1988 Seventh Son tour (I saw them at Wembley Arena that year) ... it could well be the next live reissue DVD. It was shot on video (I believe LAD was shot on film, but could be wrong) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maiden_England

Yup, it's Live at the Rainbow 1980; the DVD also has them Live at Hammersmith (1982, Bruce) and Live in Dortmund (1983, Bruce).

Prices: Find-DVD: The History of Iron Maiden Part 1 - The Early Days DVD

It's a great live/documentary DVD, essential viewing for Maiden fans

Saw them with Di'anno at the Apollo Manchester in the late 70's when I was all new and fresh. Must admit I mostly like the earlier stuff some of which does not feature on their live albums.

Bit like Lepperd dont seem to do "Get Your Rock Off" live anymore!

Dont really get time to listen to lots of music / dvds nowadays due to young sprogs! So only looking to get one and I would like it to be the best in terms of sound / picture and concert!

Got rush in rio about a year ago but didnt like the sound / concert so ended up selling it and getting R30 which I think is better!

Pitty they didnt video the UFO "Strangers in the Night" concert as that is my favourite live cd! Think "to use your phrase" I would pretty much wet myself if that one hit the shelves!

Looked at that!

But when I read a few of the reviews on Amazon they say the editing is dreadful and that the camera angles are changing far too quickly!!

Is it really that bad as the DTS soundtrack is supposed to be very good?

Re: Best Iron Maiden Live DVD?

I suppose the editing is fairly quick, I guess that's just the way it is these days. The 5.1 mix is very good though, each guitarist get's his own speaker

I don't know if it's out on DVD but I have Maiden England on VHS. Well worth seeing, especially for the live version of "Seventh Son"!

Forgot all about Flight 666. I'm off to ASDA to see if they have it
