Best Free Software/Method to Rip CD to FLAC?

Hi,

Just really a quick question here, but I have been advised FLAC is the lossless format of choice to rip your music CD's for best quality.

But Googling on a method/free software to do it is just bringing up reams of shareware and dodgy malware sites.

So can I ask what would people suggest is the best free software, or free method to rip your CD's to the FLAC format.

Thanks for anyone help
Anthony
