Sweeney Todd

Can anyone suggest a possible source for the English cast album of Sondheim's Sweeney Todd (with Denis Quilley and Sheila Hancock)?

It seems to be no longer available, but are there any specialist dealers who might be able to supply a copy?

Thanks in advance.

Garrett,

Thanks for the suggestion, but no, I haven't. I would prefer to buy it, if there's a copy to be had anywhere.

Any of these Bert? Gemm is usually the best place on the net for rare stuff.

Gambit,

Many thanks for that, but sadly all those different buyers seem only to be offering the US cast album.

Hi Bert

I had a look round for you and I too could not find the English cast anywhere. But on looking I had no idea that Denis Quilley was I so many musicals.

I take it you know he sadly died the other week see here

Garrett,

Yes, Denis Quilley had a hugely wide-ranging career, in straight roles as well as musical ones. He was also a thoroughly nice, gentlemanly chap.

I worked with him several times and wrote a guest star role in one of the BBC Radio Sherlock Holmes episodes especially for him. His death is a real loss.

You could try searching on Netsounds (as an alternative to Gemm). They're mainly UK shops so you may have more luck.

S'funny. The title of this thread had me thinking of Spinal Tap...."Saucy Jack, he's a naughty one" etc etc

Whiting,

Thanks for the link but unfortunately the version I'm after doesn't seem to be listed there either.
