Disc Condition Checking Software?

Hi,

I have purchased numerous second hand DVDs and some are a tad scratched. Obviously I want to check if they are going to skip however I do not have time to watch them all the way through in the near future to test them.

Is there software which I can load on my computer that will test DVDs for damage without be having to watch them?

Thanks

Re: Disc Condition Checking Software?

hmmm, DVD Shrink normally picks up if there is damage to the disc (only because it throws up an error code, not because it's an actual function of the program)

Re: Disc Condition Checking Software?

DVDinfopro and Nero has what is called a CRC check and scans for read errors. It still doesn't mean the discs will play up as some players are good at correcting errors on the fly.
