BBC Iplayer video - convert to AVI/DIVX

Is this even possible? Downloaded a programme and it appears to be in MP4 format.

Can I convert this to AVI/DIVX so that I can put it on a DVD for my DVD player to read? (yes, DVD player plays DIVX).
