hi mate - i have dvdpedia and scan using the built in icam. not sure if profiler allows you to do so. although i find manually searching is quicker.

I have sold a lot of discs lately, and bought quite a few blu rays.
The Problem is, I have gotten lost in the losts, so I want to be lazy and just scan the code with a lazer zapper thingy, as I also mke a typed list of each individual dvd/bd and really dont want to have to type out all the bar codes as well as theres a few hundred

Years ago you used to be able to get a Cuecat, I think it was called for no more than a couple of quid on eBay, you had to do something minor with the software to get it to work with DVD profiler, was a 2 minute job and after that it worked fine.
No idea if you can still get them though.

No idea if you can still get them though. | Seems the cuecat is about £13 on ebay now and has to come from the USA
Is there anything else anyone has tried that works for less than £20 that they can point me to??
(pref usb, but doesnt matter)

Any barcode scanner than can read standard EAN commercial barcodes should work.
There's northing magical about them or the application, the scanner becomes merely an input device which you could scan into anything, i.e. Notepad, Word, XL etc

I'll definately have to find one for next time, it would be so much quicker
