Favourite & Recommended Movie Review Podcasts ?

Having been trialing a few podcasts recently I wondered which podcaster is your favourite ??

(Obviously the AVF is one of them but is a little too infrequent for my liking)

So apart from the AVF podcast my favourites are as follows ...

Mark Kermode & Simon Mayo movie reviews - very interesting and Marks knowledge is second to none .. although his tastes in movies could be debatable

Scene Unseen movies reviews - American and often very amusing, no holding back and sometimes quite explicit use of language

Movies you should see - Am a bit undecided about this podcast as the use of IMDB seems to be used a little too frequently, and gives the impression of amateurism

Anyone have any favourites they can recommend ??

Re: Favourite & Recommended Movie Review Podcasts ?

I listen to a lot of film podcasts. Not all of them are reviews, but I quite like these:

Filmspotting, Film Weekly, The Film Programme (BBC Radio 4), Mondo Movie (for cult films), bloodydisgusting (for horror), Slate's Spoiler Specials (only to be listened to after seeing the film), IFC

Most of them can be found on iTunes.

Personally I can't stand Mark Kermode's egomaniac podcast and radio show and he isn't nearly as knowledgable about film as he constantly makes out. He wants you to think he knows a lot by peppering his rants with often irrelevant references, but he frequently gets his facts wrong and he seems to know little about films before the 70s.

Simply Syndicated Movie You Should See is worth a listen. They know all about film but it's a good laugh.

Edit. Sorry didn't read that you've already heard it. Still think it's funny though.

The main man on Simply Syndicated reminds me of the character in the TV programme Peep Show .. well he certainly sounds like him

Not a podcast as such, but I check this out for updates every few days.

BBC - Mark Kermode - Kermode Uncut Video Blog

Check through the archives if you get time. But beware - you could be there a long time.

Cheers Steve, will have a look at some, I take it there is no option to download the archive casts ?

American Cinematographer has started doing podcasts. Haven't got round to listening to them, but it looks interesting to me (and boring to most others )

My fave Podcast (its the only one I listen too now), funny, great banter, and reviews that you can generally trust.

What he says is generally accurate, but I agree he has some odd tastes.
