Star Wars HMV box set

This box set contains the original cinema films, does anyone know if it comes with DD 5.1 or just the plain old 2.0 like other releases?

Re: Star Wars HMV box set

The Original releases that are classed as 'special features' have just the bog standard 2.0 channel sound and Laserdisc transfer from the look of it.

I guess that you already know that they are also Non-Anamorphic. They might ever be Non-Anamorphic 4:3, I haven't looked at mine in a while so not 100% sure.

My boxed set (of the first 3 films) says "All 3 classic films Digitally restored & remastered with new 5.1 Surround EX"

Re: Star Wars HMV box set

The OP is talking about the 1977, 1980 and 1983 original versions which are also included on the bonus disc of the most recent box sets

Re: Star Wars HMV box set

Cheers guys, I thought I would check. I knew when the original original's were released as special features a couple of years ago they were 2.0 and non-anamorphic, but I was hoping it might have changed with this set.

Looks like I will have to be patient and wait for Adywan to finish Episode V & VI. Most impressed with what he did with Episode IV

IV was near enough perfect for me. No Jabba the Hut and no Greedo shooting first.

Both scenes ruin the Special Edition versions IMHO.
