French edition of DUNE on Blu

Hi. There's a french edition of Dune on BD, I'd like to know if anyone has checked this. From a comparison site it seems to be on par with the HD-DVD US release, albeit with a less dark picture, more similar to the previous DVD releases.

Here is the comparison site:
http://web12.dvd2web.de/hd_dune/hd_dune.htm

Seems like a solid release for those interested, at the least the level of detail seems similar to the HD-DVD release. Has anyone checked this out?

Re: French edition of DUNE on Blu

I love the film and would like it on Blu-Ray if a really good version appears.

Re: French edition of DUNE on Blu

As it is region free, I was going to pick it up (I have a Region A machine) but the extras are standard definition Pal and wont play in a RA machine.

Re: French edition of DUNE on Blu

I'm going to Portugal this month, but I'll probably order it when I get back in August. Lets see. I'm sure it's way better then the DVD releases so far, and I'm positive that the PQ is at the level of the HD-DVD version. The extras are a bit weak in comparison, but that's secondary.

Re: French edition of DUNE on Blu

I would have liked it to have the extended TV edition in HD included as well.

I hope not, it sucked in my opinion I would prefer to just have those scenes as extras.

I'll take as many extra (finished) scenes as possible.
