Blu-ray and HD-DVD lack of special features

I have been buying a numerous blu-ray and hd-dvds in the past few months,
I am just shocked by the amount I have brought which dont offer any kind of special features. It seems weird as when you put a hd-dvd into your player it advertises 6x better picture resolution, more extras than standard dvd but them they dont have any on the hd it'self.

why release a film without any features?

Maybe so they can release them again later as a special edition.

And that's a new practice? This has been going on for years with DVD.

I'm interested to know, which Blu rays and HD DVD's don't have all the extra's you were expecting?

Re: Blu-ray and HD-DVD lack of special features

I've only just started on the blu-ray but as with dvd, the companies want you to shell out as often as they can get away with it. The majority of the time I only go for loaded discs but sometimes you don't have the patience to wait.
Also in the early days of dvd the quality left a lot to be desired. the same can no doubt be said about a number of blu-ray releases.
its like deja vu all over again.

Re: Blu-ray and HD-DVD lack of special features

gotta say that the main reason i abandoned blu-ray for the time being at least, it's a market in it's infancy and until it represents value for money for me at least, i will wait it out for cheap players and better quality releases..
