Thanks: Gave 0, Got 0 | First Post & First HD Movie ?
I finally made a choice of TV (Panasonic TX-37LZD80) and I've bought a PS3 to go with it I should have the PS3 today and the TV by the weekend.
Question is, which HD Movie should I watch on it first ? I've seen hundreds of movies so seeing one again won't come into it, I just want to be
blown away with the visuals. I see that casino Royale was voted the best HD movie, is that the one to go for ? Suggestions, please !

So, we're looking for great film, great PQ and great SQ.
I don't know your tastes, so here's a variety. Casino Royale
Identity
Blade Runner
Big Fish
Cloverfield
Dof Day Afternoon
Face/Off
A Few Good Men
Harry Potter(s)
Layer Cake
No Country for Old Men
Run Lola Run
The Terminator
All of them are good films (within their respective genres) and look and sound more or less as good as they ever will.
Given that you probably want a type of film that will draw your attention to the PQ/SQ a little more than anything else, and thus need a film including lots of 'impressive' shots and sounds - though hopefully without sacrificing your brain to a rubbish film - I'd probably go for Casino Royale.

MGS4 is on the list, I've also added deja vu, thanks for the tips.
The PS3 has just arrived, it's sat just there on my desk.
The new TV was going to be delivered on Thursday but I've just been informed that it will be here Tuesday.
I'm off to buy a HDMI ~ DVI lead .. so I can play GT5 from PSN on my PC LCD .. erm .. Am I in acronym heaven or hell ?

For PQ, Crank is the best I've seen.
You'd have to buy the German version though as it is not out in the UK.
All the languages are in English though, including all the extras (apart from the one trailer) so it's not a problem. Crank - Amazon.de link |

For me Cars looked phenomenal, benchmark PQ! I have also been impressed with Blade Runer, some parts of that are stunning
Was quite dissapioted with Casino Royale, by no means bad just never seemed top tier stuff

Blood Diamond as great PQ as well, plus it's a brilliant film. Can't really go wrong with that film.
On the subject of games though, I had a PS3 when they were launched with Motorstorm and at the time I was playing it on a 19" Philips non-HD LCD TV and the graphics were stunning. So I would go for that as it's bound to be jaw dropping on a big HD TV.

GT5 Prologue is also pretty good to look at and play.
