Unhappy Captured HD format with Pinnacle 11 Plus.

I am confused about the image size/format when I use Pinnacle 11 plus. I have a Sony camcorder that gives me 1920x1080P but Pinnacle only offers 1920x1080x50i (PAL option). When I capture clips the icons tell me the format is 1440x1080 but if I grab a frame and view that in Photoshop that tells me it is 1920x1080. So, as I say, I am confused. Can anyone help?
Don.

Re: Captured HD format with Pinnacle 11 Plus.

Your camcorder is almost certainly capturing 1440x1080i, but somewhere along the playback line, this is getting scaled to 1920x1080 to make the aspect ratio correct. So, you're not being shortchanged.
