Thanks: Gave 22, Got 43 | St Trinians Blu-Ray: no picture on PS3
Anybody got St Trinians on Blu-Ray and got it to work on their PS3?
I get the pre-menu logo's and the main menu but then if I click on "Play" or "Special Features" I get no picture (although the sound plays just fine).
I have no problems with over 50 other Blu-Ray discs so am assuming this is a defect of the disc itself. Can anyone confirm/deny? I believe I have the latest firmware on my PS3.
Thanks.
(Yeah, I know the film is probably pants anyway, but even so....)

Never had a disc not play, but im sure i've read on here that if you have problems try skipping through the menu/trailers. Hope it works. Is the Blu-ray Region B locked or Region free ??
Cheers
Tony

Are you sure it's not a handshake issue. My PS3 fouls up all the time if I haven't had the amp, monitor and PS3 all switched on when I put the disc in the machine.
All the best

I've got a US region A player so wondering if it's safe to buy the UK disc. Couldn't see a US release yet.

Pretty sure it was only released here, Australia, Belgium and Germany, which imho was a success given how bad it was.

By chance is the disc encoded at different refresh rate ?

Just purchased this morning, there are no trailers and film starts up fine from the menu on a PS3 after pressing play.
Sounds like you've got a fault somewhere.
Oh and it's definitely regionally coded (tried on Panny Region A player and came up with usual "wrong region" message).

Don't understand why the wretched thing doesn't play where all the other Blu-Ray discs are fine. This is going into a Pioneer PDP-503 screen which takes 1080i as input but plays only 720p. However I bought a LaCie external Blu-Ray Writer for my PC today and can watch the disc on my PC using that.
Do you get horrible crackling sound over the menu music? I wasted time yesterday thinking it was my central speaker wiring but then realied it was the wretched disc. It does the same on my PC speakers. Very annoying!

I think the cracking sound is meant to be present on the menu as part of the background effects.
Can confirm movie played fine throughout and thoroughly enjoyable too. Remained true to the spirit of the original while taking on board a contemporary setting.
Lots of one liners and movie references, but my favourite has to be when the main character first arrived, "It's like Hogwarts for pikeys!"
Oh one word of warning, before watching with very young children it's quite risque in places compared to the original, so you might want to check it out first.

You're the first person I've come across who likes it. Anyone else?
Cheers
