Blu Ray: Seen Any Real Stinkers?

Im just wondering if anyones come across any blu ray discs where theyve thought "well that picture qualities terrible" or "thats no better than dvd"

There seems to be a lot of discs for 13 quid at Asda and i cant believe they all offer faultless picture quality and sound

I wasn't overly impressed with the Terminator 2 quality.

Re: Blu Ray: Seen Any Real Stinkers?

im suspicious of these big event films like terminator 1 and 2 being on blu ray so early

i think people expect these big films to be perfect and exceptional. is it possible that the care and attention that we expect hasnt been brought to the disc and that these were just rush-releases?

Both films have a number of DVD releases, maybe they are trying to go for re-releases of these on Blu Ray by deliberately keeping the quality down.

Full Metal Jacket (both copies) are widely reported as rubbish.

This :- http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=858316

is a good guide to PQ.

I have Terminator 1 on Blu-Ray and am very impressed with the PQ.

It is a while since I watched this on Blu-Ray, but remember saying at the time the picture and sound were awesome, in fact one of the best so far.
In my particular set up it really was superb and a great advertisement for Blu-ray, certainly no complaints about that one!

Re: Blu Ray: Seen Any Real Stinkers?

Robocop is pretty bad IMO. Though it's still clearly better than DVD.

Re: Blu Ray: Seen Any Real Stinkers?

robocop? really? aint it cool was raving about it

to be hoenst if im buying a blu ray disc the company better have put some effort into it.

I dont see people buying blu ray discs for 18/23 quid for just a small improvement on DVD. Especially when that dvds 5 quid in the sale

i think now that £15 unlimited rental schemes are about, a lot of people are going to rent blu ray before they buy so they can asses just how good the picture is

now that im getting a blue ray player im put about 30 blu ray discs to the top of my amazon rental que.

That's odd. I've seen it on 2 LCD TVs, A plasma and also a projector and every one of us watching thought it was poor quality.
