Exclamation Let the HD DVD's Sales Begin!

Hi all,

Yes, i am very much sadened by the news off the death of HD DVD, n: i still believe that the better format died.

But in the wake of its death i have come up with the thought that most websites and highstreet shops will have stockpiles of HD DVDs to get rid off and i feel that reduced prices and many offers on HD DVDs are to come.

So i start this thread for people to leave any details on HD DVD sales/bargain/offers that you find! lets hope thats theres a few
[please leave links if possible, thank you!]

good day to y'all,
Mj

Amazon.com have 50% off on selected titles. This offer have lasted a good week now and may end soon since it was for a limited time only. You can also check their High-Def Deal page for new deals.

DeepDiscount.com have an offer that started last week and ends March 27. They have Universal HD DVDs with up to 59% off. Many of the titles are only $12.20.

Will Amazon.com allow orders to the UK?

Mods, I hope you'll allow this thread to remain open.

There are already too many places to check for High Def news - a little leeway for these bargains would be helpful, as they might come and go very quickly.

Agreed however would it not be more relevant in the 'Bargain' forum for DVD, Blu-ray and HD-DVD?

Yes they do but beware of duty if the total order value is more than about $40.00 (approx).

You have to keep each order below £18 in value if you want it to be under the threshold for import tax.

Some companies offer to ship the items as a gift and if that is the case the threshold doubles to £36. Someone else would have to advise you on that though as I don't have the personal experience.

Re: Let the HD DVD's Sales Begin!

I know, but keeping up with recent events means checking:

- The DVD Players (High Definition) forum;
- The HD DVD Players forum;
- The HD Movies forum;
- The DVD Suppliers, Movie Download Sites & DVD Technology forum;
- The HD DVD Movie Classified Adverts forum;
- The DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray Movie Bargains forum.

Just asking for a bit of leeway.

Re: Let the HD DVD's Sales Begin!

Would be nice to have the one dedicated thread for it here. I've already picked up a few great bargains from secondhand sources, but hoping for some bargains from the new stockpiles.

Re: Let the HD DVD's Sales Begin!

Our local department store has 50% off all HD DVD's until they run out.

I bought Transformers, Bourne ultimatum, Inside Man, Charlie and chocolate and Top Gun.

For 14 euros each, not great prices but pretty good.

Re: Let the HD DVD's Sales Begin!

So where are all the sales?!! Maybe I'm too impatient, but I would have thought we'd have seen some retailers clearing their stock by now. But when I search the net I find nothing, zilch!
