New Line being taken to court over Film trilogy profits

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main...2/wring212.xml

Looks like there will be a long wait for any HD release of LOTR as Tolkien Trust (and the book' publishers I believe) are taking the Studio to court for £75m + punitive damages (usually its the punitive damages in the US that can rack up, from what I have heard anyway)

If this is a repost please delete

It could always work the other way of course whereby the studio release it more quickly in order to claw back some profits lost during this court case (should they lose).

Providing such a compromise could be agreed of course in any settlement.

IT seems it could affect The Hobbit too. I hope they come to some arrangement. soon...

The problem is that first it has to come to court - which could be some time yet

But certainly what you suggest could happen

Yeah I agree the Hobbit will hopefully be something to look forward to, but its a pity Peter Jackson isnt the director imo
