Re: Aside from Transformers and Batman Begins..

These should all be HD DVD exclusive and for various reasons worth having:

Bourne Trilogy
Heroes S1
Hot Fuzz
Star Trek S1
King Kong
Seabiscuit
Shaun Of The Dead
Shrek The Third
Stardust
The Thing
Top Gun

At present you could add also The Matrix Trilogy, Batman Begins and V For Vendetta but as these are Warner they could also appear on blu-ray at some point.

Re: Aside from Transformers and Batman Begins..

I would also recommend The Matador; a really fun movie with Greg Kinnear and Pierce Brosnan with great PQ (it's a US release).
And Shrek III is also worth a purchase if you like the movie. The PQ is one of the best on both formats.
Those aside, there a a bunch of Universal movies that are worth a purchase, depending which ones you like.

One last thought: One Six Right is a very informative documentary about the van Nuys airport and General Aviation airports in the US in general. Stunning PQ!

Re: Aside from Transformers and Batman Begins..

The most I've been impressed was Bladerunner, it was simply stunning... with awesome visuals making the old DVD version look like VHS, it really is that good... god I get goosebumps just thinking about it now.

Also Planet Earth is mind blowing and is just a great learning experience. Looks fantastic as most HD Documentories do to be far.

I've got The Prestige and rank it in the top 10 best films ever made, however, not sure it's going to show off HD-DVD, I haven't actually watched my HD copy yet... so...
