Re: HD`S Coding

Should regional coding ever come to HD DVD (highly unlikely IMHO) and if you have a region free player than coding cannot be enforced on that machine.

So get yourself a region free HD DVD player i.e. anyone that’s on the market now, and don’t worry about what the future may bring.

Re: HD`S Coding

Just to expand on what Drongo has said - all current discs and all current HD DVD players are region free (for the HD DVD side anyway). It is possible that, in the future, regional coding will be introduced - however as introduction of such coding would require compatibility with the HD DVD-Video specification you can guarantee your player will still play new discs, and all your current region free discs will remain playable.

Re: HD`S Coding

And, of course, there's no sign of RC arriving anytime soon, and HD DVD players arealready very cheap.

If RC arrived tomorrow you can pick up a HD DVD player from the US for £100.
