I noticed while looking around online that Mr & Mrs Smith was available as an HD DVD in Poland. I couldn't find any of the .pl sites that offered any English buying screens so I asked one of the guys at work to help me before Xmas. Arrived this morning - ordered from
www.vivid.pl - with shipping it came in at a rather expensive £27.72 according to my CC bill.
But it's one of those films that I like 'cause it takes almost no brain attention and is nice and lightweight viewing. "Guilty pleasures" I think is a good description.
I have watched the first 15 minutes and the transfer is OK, but I haven't checked the post-credits to see who did it. It's VC1 so is not the same encode as the BluRay and I noticed a couple or print specific marks but they are not annoying in anyway. The English audio tracks are DTS and DD - but I have no way of checking the bit rates and the back cover is no help.
In summary, £28 is lots to spend, but it's great for completeness
