HD-DVD the reference discs ?

Hi, Im starting to build my collection, I was wondering if a list exists on this forum of the reference discs, what I mean by that is good/classic films with excellent transfers/sound ?

My first two purchases are Pan's Labrynth and Transformers (yes i think its good ).

There isn't a list as such, but if you browse through the last few recent pages in this HD Movies forum, you will find lots of threads on this same sort of subject.
