Blu-Ray discs bigger than Laserdiscs?

Can't see Blu-Ray winning the format war. I didn't realise the discs were so much bigger. You could get a hernia lifting them out of the case!

Joking aside, how 'big' was LaserDisc?

Total discs sold per week or year?

Total number of players sold?

Proof that Blu-Ray is huge! LD was only 12 inches/one foot.

All the best

Re: Blu-Ray discs bigger than Laserdiscs?

Is that an empty Blu Ray box?

I assume its one of the US thin cases? Why does the item blurb say it does not have the BD logo- it seems to on the box!

Have a read of the description...
Quote:
The Blu-Ray Case is the standard Blu-Ray case that used in any Blu-ray movie (approx 6.8inches long, 5.4inches long and 0.6inches thick).

Disney will surely be interested in how many Gb's a 7foot long BD will hold.
