Hairspray on UK Blu-Ray

Just finished watching this on double-disk Blu Ray, and really enjoyed it.

This was a late purchase as camp musicals are not really my thing, and to be honest I'd have avoided it entirely if the reviews hadn't been so enthusiastic. I'm probably alone in not liking the original film at all when I saw it (Debbie Harry was in it so it was kind of de rigeur to pretend you loved it) but this new version is much more "feel good". The transfer is amazing - I'd say reference quality.

Well worth checking out.

Re: Hairspray on UK Blu-Ray

i try and stay away from musicals (unless it little shop of horrors or the producers) but this one looks like a laugh, i may well end up renting it.

I cant find any information about the English audio track of the Hairspray UK Blu-Ray Version. Is it only a Dolby Digital 5.1 track? Thank You.

Re: Hairspray on UK Blu-Ray

Well back of my Hairspray box (UK release) says it's DTS 5.1 HD. So doesn't appear to be 7.1 (if that's what the US one is), though it does appear to be HD sound.

Re: Hairspray on UK Blu-Ray

Looks like it's just DTS-HD HR then as I couldn't spot a DTS Master Audio logo on the box. Didn't get a chance to see what it says on the disc menus though.

What's the difference between DTS-HD and DTS-MA?
