Potter Phoenix High Def Audio

Hi All,

I am waiting to order The Order of the Phoenix on HD-DVD or Bluray. Can anybody confirm the audio specs? (PCM / True HD)

Thanks in advance

Re: Potter Phoenix High Def Audio

Both get True HD, BD has PCM to.

Worse still however is that both the BD and HD DVD use the fat UK boxes- i hate those

Re: Potter Phoenix High Def Audio

Thanks for the info!!!

I don't much care for the fat cases, but I can't wait another month for the US Versions.

Is the BD region free???

Ugly design - the only fat UK box I have is Jarhead, annoyingly their Goblet of Fire UK HD-DVD is a slim case so why have they used the fat box for this release !

Re: Potter Phoenix High Def Audio

You don't want to get Harry Potter and Philosopher's Stone in the US they renamed it to Sorcerer's stone and changed the dialogue to fit the Americanised title.

I never realised they changed the dialogue as well.

All because the Yanks don't know what a philosopher is.

I assumed they would be the same.

To be fair, film/ book one is the weakest- I'll just keep the DVD version

My UK Blu-ray dosen't have Dolby Digital TrueHD - Just LPCM and DD 5.1.

Not sure about the HD DVD - probably TrueHD on that.

Re: Potter Phoenix High Def Audio

UK HD-DVD has DD+ and True HD..

I'm only using the Xbox addon at the mo, but I watched this last night.

PQ was great, and the AQ was pretty damn good too! Some of the scenes were a real audio treat!! Can't wait to sample the TrueHD track.

I've not sampled any of the special features, yet.

The film it's self was pretty good, plenty of wow factor! I doubt anyone will be disapointed with PQ or AQ

Oh and plenty of Bass for you Bass lovers!! you know who you are!

When I looked at the boxes in HMV all 5 BDs had PCM/DD and the HD-DVDs had TrueHD/DD+.

Would be interested in seeing if there is a difference between the 2 formats on both PQ and AQ.
