Re: This months Total Film BD/HDDVD

I think quite a few of us here have gone dual format. or in my case attempting to go dual format. Certainly some stores and Blockbuster are pushing BD over HD DVD. The most "amusing" bias is the sci fi SFX magazine. Each issue has a round up of sci fi HD releases and they always conclude BD is better for their readers. They say there's very little sci fi on HD DVD. Yet there's always a full page ad from a disc importer in it as well offering loads of HD DVDs. Some like Star Trek TOS and Heroes are HD DVD exlusive.

Go dual format if you can and don't worry about it.

All the best

Re: This months Total Film BD/HDDVD

With you already having the add-on I would definitely get some sort of Blu-ray player and open up your choice of HD movies. Imo all your really gonna gain from getting a new stand alone HD DVD player is a few more advanced audio options (will/can you use them?) where as with a BD player you will open up the other 60% or so of the HD market.

If I were you I would get a PS3 until a decent dual format player is out then at least your left with another console to keep or sell on.

I'm gonna get the new dual format Samsung next if it's any good. I think if/when dual players are successful and take off single format players won't be worth much but a PS3 will be.

You on COD4 tonight?
