The Kingdom on HD DVD
Coming to HD DVD on Boxing Day:
http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/sh..._December/1149
I get a feeling this one will do very well.
Despite being a (relatively) small film, not a big Summer Blockbuster, it appears to tick all the boxes.

Re: The Kingdom on HD DVD
Looking forward to this one - it's a HD DVD/DVD combi which will upset some (not me) but specs look great: 1080p/VC1 (as normal) and a Dolby lossless TrueHD soundtrack. Extras look fairly good as well - it will include all the DVD content (audio commentary with director Peter Berg, four featurettes and deleted scenes) plus PiP commentary, U-Control and web-enabled content.

Re: The Kingdom on HD DVD
I am also looking forward to this film coming out on HD DVD. I did not get a chance to see it in the cinema so I hope it turns out to be a good film.
Does anyone know why it is being released on Boxing Day? I would of thought with the release being close the Christams they may have thought to bring that out a little earlier.

Missed this at the flicks too, so I might give it a go 'blind' along with Eastern Promises.

Isn't the post-Christmas period one of the biggest shopping days of the year?

True. I just thought if they brought it out a week or 2 earlier they may get a few extra sales as it could make a good stocking filler.

Exactly what I'm doing, except I've seen Eastern Promises.

Re: The Kingdom on HD DVD
Axelmusic are selling this for £13.53 (£14.52 with postage), same price as Zodiac Director's Cut.
Now if only I could find Eastern Promises at a similar price range.

Never ordered from Axel before. What are they like for getting new releases out before the actual release date?

Re: The Kingdom on HD DVD
I saw this at the flicks and it is one of if not the best film I have seen this year.

Re: The Kingdom on HD DVD
Can anyone find this release online at Amazon.com? I order all my stuff from them but can't see this title listed yet. Which is strange as Amazon are normally fairly quick off the mark.

Re: The Kingdom on HD DVD
Watched this film tonight and I thought it was a great film BUT...
BUT... why the hell is there all this shaky hand-held camera work. It made me feel like vomiting. I can understand it during the action-scenes but all the bllody time is very annoying and fatiguing. Cos' of that I will NOT be watching this otherwise good film again. I don't pay money to feel sick!
Note to director's: This shaky hand-held "fad" is wearing thin and it is unnecessary. Please stop "overusing" it so we can actually watch your films without feeling like s**t afterwards!!!
