I like them cos of the convienience. I don't like the fact that they are more expensive though.

I love combos, I can watch them all round the house then instead of just my HD home cinema room.

Negative hype.
I can only go on personal experience, but I've had only 2 films have problems on my HD-ED1, and only one was a combo.
I think if people have a problem with a disc and it's a combo, the problem automatically becomes attributable to the disc's combo status, whether it is or not.

1. Extra price.
2. Im not interested in owning the SD version.
3. I don't like having to look at the disc to see if im putting in the correct side as it can lead to smudges , fingerprints etc.Im not a freak but i can handle discs without touching the playing side.

Apart from the reasons mentioned already, one reason I dislike Combo's is that friends and family may still discover that they can infact borrow these ones... It's bad enough trying to keep track of my SD's, and actually trying to get them back well like I said less combos the better

It looks like combos are now going to be the same price as normal releases, and that the $5 extra is being abandoned;
2. You might not be interested, but why complain if it doesn't bother you;
3. It takes a second to llok to see which side to place upwards.
I believe prejudice against combos is just that - prejudice.
Apart from the extra price (now disappeared) there really is nothing wrong with them at all.
Just my opinion - best wishes.

Steve W | Mate , i don't need to be convinced.
My 3rd point was not the fact that i need to check which side is the side i want , but the fact that why should i need to check and maybe cause dropping it and getting smudges.

Personally, I just open the case, and look while I'm holding the case. In 10 years of owning DVDs, I can't remember ever dropping an opened case.
My problem isn't with people not liking combos - that's their choice.
It's with the rabid crusade against combos for reasons which, when thought about, you could drive a coach and horses through.

Steve W | Well that wouldn't be the case mate if we had a choice now would it?
I don't have anything against combo's , apart from the fact that i must buy one if i want that movie.
If they do reduce the price thats good , but i still hate the fact that i have to look at another playing side when i open it up , rather than a cover of the movie.
It looks like a blank disc , i sometimes feel like getting my CD-R pen out!!!lol

Cost and lack of disc art (mostly because my wife mentions it everytime she opens a combo case "Oh it's one of THESE!, I never know which way up to put it" )
I've never had a playability problem. Only 1 of my 50 HD-DVD's didn't work and that wasn't a combo and was just a bad disc the replacement worked fine.
I guess the added flexability is nice but I've never used it.
While I prefer non combos I'm not hugely bothered, I've never not brought a movie because it was a combo. If they get rid of the extra price for a combo then I'll be very happy. I too can't really see where the rabid anti combo people are coming from.
