Das Boot, Run Lola Run on BD...and Leon?

This from The Digital Bits yesterday:

"Finally, we're gotten word from our industry sources that Sony is current working on Blu-ray Disc versions of Das Boot and Run Lola Run for release early in 2008. Here's hoping that Leon: The Professional is on the way too."

Das Boot is a definte high def must-buy for me.

Leon would be, too.

Run Lola Run is a great film, but I'm not sure I need a high def version. There's little about the film which would pursuade me to watch it again on my projector - no great cinematic spectacle. It was shot cheaply, and looks and sounds it.

Any future watching will be on the TV, and I already have the DVD for that.

Maybe if it was cheap...

But 'Das Boot' would look superb if done well - a film where it's vital high def is used to wring out every last bit of detail from the submarines interiors. Oh, and the sound...

Leon? What a great film, but what a great looking and sounding film, too.

Never seen Das Boot, but I would imagine it could have the makings of being an awesome film to watch on HD.

Hang in there.

Don't just give yourself to the dark side

Try to resist, turned out ok for young Skywalker

Hoping Das Boot (truly great film) makes it to HD-DVD in 2009 assuming Sony sees the light.

PS - Appears that there are one or 2 other Distributors (worldwide) other than Columbia so a small chance of a HD-DVD release even if Sony don't play ball.

Here's hoping for the uncut versions of Leon & Das Boot.

Love the Leon soundtrack, especially the seige towards the end - "bring me everyone"

The BD insider (Paidgeek) reckons that Lola is currently scheduled to come out in Jan and Das Boot in Feb.

Fingers crossed that Leon isn't too far behind.

Run Lola Run is one of my all time favourites. I think the soundtrack would greatly benefit from an uncompressed pcm soundtrack. Be brilliant to see Leon as well but which version?

Cheers

Run Lola Run will be entering my collection of titles as well. And it'll no doubt be region free as well.

How about all the versions via seamless branching or on separate discs? That would definitely make me upgrade my DVDs of Leon and Das Boot.

Das Boot is a must buy for me too. I have the Superbit DVD but BD would be nice! The sound is so critical to Das Boot and the Superbit was great in this respect, so with an uncompressed soundtrack it should be awesome.
