Non movie related "but" HD DVD case manufacturers hang your heads in shame....

Not sure if Blu Ray suffers from the same shoddy manufacturing process, I have no BD yet.

Anyway the point is that out of 22 HD DVDs I have purchased, no less than 6 have arrived with either the case cracked or the disc mounting spindle missing parts thus the disc is flying around inside the box. That is about 22% of my collection has broken packaging, pretty shameful if you ask me.

Anyone selling replacement cases? I need some double cases too as my Flags of our fathers has BOTH sides broken.

Why don't you just send them back to where you bought them from as damaged goods?

Not really worth the effort, besides some of them you don't notice until you opened the pack.

I received all 3 of my Mission Impossible trilogy cases completely smashed from MovieTyme. I sent them an email informing them of the fact and they sent me some extra cases free of charge...

The Prestige arrived from play.com this morning . .. .broken
That's actually what prompted this mini rant

EDIT, I just mailed to both Axelmusic and Play to ask if they will send any replacment cases, let's see what happens.

I have 20+ HDDVD's and have to say that I too am unimpressed by the cases. 4 of them arrived with either broken cases or inside where it holds the disc has teeth missing that have broken off. And I buy from Movietyme and play. Not their fault, but the cases are rubbish

I have had exactly the same problem with US Blu-Ray cases manufactured by "Elite".

Centre pins broken on all 3 new US discs I have purchased so far with loose bits rattling around the box as you say.

US Blu-Ray cases - very poor quality - 3 all broken

The European "Amaray" Blu-Ray cases are FAR superior in quality.

Who makes the US HD-DVD ones out of interest?
